A state representative is still pushing random drug testing for people who receive help from the state.
This is the third year Representative John Labruzzo has proposed a requirement for 20 percent of welfare recipients to be drug tested.
If they test positive they would be offered free treatment to keep their benefits.
Labruzzo says the cost would be less then 100 thousand dollars.
Opponents say people who receive welfare already have to pass a drug test, but Labruzzo says that's not true.
