HOLLYWOOD HOOKUP (FOX44) – Pro wrestling great Ric Flair graced the Boston Red Sox locker room with his presence. He showed up to loosen the guys up. They're feeling the pressure of a late season swoon and shrinking wild-card lead. Flair even introduced the Red Sox lineup on TV. A great pumper upper but the Red Sox still lost, choking in the eighth inning.
- The band REM released a statement on their website saying they decided to, "call it a day as a band." Singer Michael Stipe says it wasn't an easy decision but all things must end. The alternate rock icons formed in 1980 in Athens, Georgia. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.
– Tony Bennett is the latest celebrity to say he's sorry. The singer said he was only saying what he feels; when he said the U.S. caused the 9-11 attacks by bombing people. He said this during an interview on Howard Stern's radio show Tuesday. Bennett issued a written statement saying there's no excuse for terrorism. He says his experiences in World War II made him believe violence only causes more violence.
