Robbery at Mall of Louisiana caused panic for shoppers
Stores have reopened
A robbery caused panic today at the Mall of Louisiana. It happened a little after noon. A man shattered a glass jewelry display case in Mecca Gold after spraying a store employee with mace. The sound of the shattering glass was mistakenly reported as gunshots by people throughout the building. The sounds caused many to flee for the door and exit in mass.
An entrance to the mall has been blocked. The man responsible for the robbery has not been apprehended at this time, but officials say he is no longer in the building.
The Mall of Louisiana has reopened.
