Russell Brand arrested for Simple Criminal Damage in New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS, LA (FOX44) — Russell Brand was just arrested by Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office for Simple Criminal Damage.
The infamous comedian/actor is accused of throwing a photographer’s cell phone through the window of a local business in New Orleans back in Monday, March 12.
Reports say Brand took the cell phone out of the hand of the photographer when he was taking pictures of brand from his car. Allegedly Brand then threw the phone at a law firm office and shattered the window.
We’re told Brand offered to pay for the damage at the time.
Brand recently returned to New Orleans to film his latest project, which is untitled. The screenplay was written by Diablo Cody (“Juno”).
Brand was booked into the Orleans Parish Jail at 4:14 p.m. on Thursday, March 15. His bond is set at $5,000 and he is charged with one count of Simple Criminal Damage.
