BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) - Senator David Vitter talking with the Press Club of Baton Rouge today on issues at home and in Washington.
Senator Vitter talked about the Restore Act, a push in Washington to dedicate 80% of the Clean Water Act fines to states directly affected by the 2010 BP Oil Spill. Vitter says that since Louisiana bore the brunt of that disaster, we should see most of that money.
The Senator also talked eduction. He gave credit to Governor Bobby Jindal's bold education plans, saying he approves of Governor Bobby Jindal's plan for drastic change for our students.
"By opening up those opportunites, by empowering parents with dollars, by giving them the power and that real choice, you change the playing field over time," said Senator David Vitter.
