BATON ROUGE, La (FOX44) - Baton Rouge is gearing up for the Spanish Town Parade.
Parade organizers fought with city police to have the biggest line-up possible. BRPD set this year's limit at 75 floats for crowd control reasons, but through a last-minute compromise, 90 floats will be allowed to roll this Saturday.
Organizer Dusty Kling stated, "We'd like to have it at 125 actually. They’re playing a little hard ball with us. With a little give and take, we got it set at 90."
Parade organizers say the more floats the better, not only for a better parade, but they say the extra revenue brought in is handed over to charity.
The Spanish Town Parade starts rolling at noon on Saturday.
