SU student locked up after armed robbery, beating on campus

BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — A student at Southern University locked up and facing a list of charges tonight. That after police say he robbed students with a gun.

According to reports Jason Dorsey was one of several suspects who beat students at a 45 caliber pistol and robbed them.

It's thought to have happened last month at several spots on campus.

We're told Dorsey robbed a man at gunpoint, then later with a hood over his face, got into two dorm rooms, ordered everyone to the floor and stole laptops.

When one victim tried to run away, according to reports, dorsey beat him in the back of the head with a gun.

Officials say Dorsey was caught, but tried to run away while being arrested.

He’s charged with armed robbery, aggravated burglary, theft, and battery on a police officer.
