Suspect arrested for double shooting

BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) This is a FOX44 update. Tameka Johnson, 29, has turned herself in to police. She will be charged with 2nd Degree Murder and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
 

9:45 PM: Baton Rouge Police have identified a possible suspect in a double shooting. Police are looking for 29 year old Tameka Johnson of Alaska St. in Baton Rouge. Johnson is accused of killing a 55 year old man around 3:00 PM Thursday near Highland Rd. and West Polk St.

Johnson is also accused of shooting and seriously injuring a 51 year old man minutes before on West Grant St.  That victim is expected to survive.

Police tell FOX44 the shootings are connected. It's believed Johnson and the victims had a previous altercation which led to the shooting. Anyone with information in this incident is urged to contact the Violent Crimes Unit at (225) 389-4869 or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-STOP (7867).
