HAMMOND, La (FOX44) - Tanigipahoa Parish Sheriff's deputies made two arrests on March 6, stemming from a car sitting conspicuously in the middle of a road.
Sergeant David Copeland noticed the white car and informed three deputies to drive by and observe. Once the driver of the car noticed the deputies, she attempted to flee the scene.
Officers stopped Stephanie Williams, 23, and her passenger Shedrick Miller, 24. The car smelt of marijuana. When asked, Miller handed one of the officers a marijuana cigar.
Police gained consent to search the vehicle. They found 13 baggies of marijuana, 28 crack cocaine rocks, one uncut crack cocaine rock, 94 ecstasy pills, all of which were concealed in a compartment in the vehicle. They also found one baggie of marijuana, one dose of alprazolam, and $1,161.00 in plain sight.
Both Miller and Williams were charged with Possession with the Intent to Sell Marijuana, Ecstasy, and Crack Cocaine, Possession of Alprazolam, and Headlamps Required.
