Tailgating at Tiger Stadium for Turkey Day

BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — Not everyone spent this holiday sitting around the dinner table. Some spend it around a tailgate.

No holiday from tailgating, especially when one of the biggest games of the year is less than 24-hours away.

The tigers may have the majority, but at least one group of mixed fans celebrated turkey day as equals.

And they were not alone.

Many were already set up for the big game tomorrow - opting to spend turkey day right outside of Tiger Stadium - a place they say is perfect after giving thanks for such a great LSU football season.

"You know, we came out last night, spent the night, and we'll be here probably until Saturday morning,” Billy Dekeyzer, a Prarieville resident and LSU football fan, said. “We have just been having a great time with our family and friends."

"This is our first year to do Thanksgiving day out here, but we're really looking forward to the game tomorrow,” Ronnie Orr, an Arkansas native out to cheer on the visiting team, added. “It's going to be a knock down, drag out, go getem affair."

Both sides were poking fun at each other all day, but it was all in the spirit of the game. And at the end of the day, they all said it was the perfect way to spend thanksgiving.
