AROUND THE WORLD (FOX44) – Taiwan, the military is prepping for a potential nuclear or biological attack in New Taipei city. More than 12-hundred personnel from different agencies are taking part in the military drills. Officials say the exercises will raise the country's ability to cope with unconventional warfare.

Greece – Dozens of police and protesters were hurt after a second day of rioting in the streets. The violence came as Greek lawmakers approved a key bill needed to secure international monetary aid to avoid their country defaulting on its debts. Angry protesters set fire to a post office on the ground floor of the building that houses the headquarters of the finance ministry during the clashes.

Japan – The country's iconic Hello Kitty is decked out in crystals today. It's to raise money for survivors of the quake and tsunami in March. An eight-inch-tall Hello Kitty limited-edition figurine is in the spotlight. It has almost 20-thousand crystals and a 15-thousand-dollar price tag. Swar Ow Ski will auction off nine of them to benefit the Japanese Red Cross efforts to help the recovery of Northeastern Japan after the quake and tsunami.
