Tangipahoa Parish man wanted for double shooting

ROSELAND, La — Tangipahoa Sheriff's deputies are looking for a man involved in a double shooting that occurred on Central Avenue in Roseland in the early morning hours of April 23.

Two vehicles were traveling west on Central Ave. The first vehicle was reportedly traveling slowly and the second vehicle was following too close to the preceding vehicle.

The driver of the first car, a 2006 Honda CRV, pulled over on the side of the road, letting the second vehicle pass.

The driver of the second vehicle, Deserie Antonio Johnson, 31, also pulled over and exited his vehicle.

When Johnson approached the occupants of the Honda, they argued and Johnson shot both people with the Honda. He then fled the scene.

It is a possiblility that Johnson may have been under the influence at the time of the shooting.

The victims were able to identify Johnson as the shooter. Both victims are reported in critical condition, however are expected to live.

A warrant has been issued for Johnson’s arrest for two counts of Attempted Second-Degree Murder.
