BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) - Tarballs popped up on eight miles of fourchon beach today.
Beach walkers saw the tarballs after Tropical Storm Lee washed them up on shore.
B.P. says they've sent ninety workers to help clean up the mess.
Dr. Ed Overton of LSU Environmental Sciences says these tarball sightings are quite common after tropical storms.
"It'll get less and less frequent, but the oil that's there will be churned up by these tropical storms, and will wash up in the forms of tarballs and little tar mats." Dr. Ed Overton, of LSU Environmental Sciences, said.
