BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — A 15 year old girl was arrested by Fire Investigators for allegedly starting a fire that destroyed at least half of her family home.
The Baton Rouge Fire Department was called to the home on Leonidas Drive shortly before 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29. Investigators say the teen started the fire in a closet at the back of the home.
Everyone in the home escaped unharmed, but the damage to the house was substantial. The areas that were not directly affected by flames did sustain heat and smoke damage.
The Baton Rouge Fire Department has declared the home a complete loss.
