Teen brags about stabbing on Facebook, booked for Second-Degree Attempted Murder

EUNICE, LA (FOX44) — A 16 year old girl is locked up after stabbing another teen several times, then bragging about it on Facebook.

The incident happened in Eunice on May 12. Officials with the Eunice Police Department tell us that a 17 year old girl got in a fight with a 16 year old girl, and the younger of the two stabbed the other. We’re told the fight began over a 16 year old boy that the suspect used to date.

The 17 year old girl is reported to have stab wounds to the left arm, left shoulder and throat. We’re told the victim has a 5 inch slash across her throat.

The suspect fled the scene and the victim was taken to a local hospital. That’s when officers were called out to investigate.

Through the investigation detectives learned that the teen had bragged about the incident on Facebook. The mother of the suspect learned about the incident and informed police after bringing the teen in to confess.

The teen was booked for Attempted Second-Degree murder. After booking she was released back into the custody of her mother pending a juvenile court hearting.

The victim has recovered and was released from the hospital.
