Teens create new dance hit for sick friend
DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (FOX44) - Two students at Denham Springs High School wanted to make their friend, Camille Fry smile, so they did what they do best and made up a song for her.
At just 16-years old, Camille Fry learned that doctors found two tumors inside her brain, and one is inoperable. Her family stands by her side through surgery and physical therapy. So too do her friends at Denham Springs High School, where she continues to take classes, but is now confined to a wheelchair.
“We made a different video for our Spanish class and they liked it so much that they wanted us to make another one…so we dedicated it to Camille because she’s in a wheelchair right now,” Keith Chavis, one of the students featured in the video, explained.
Chavis and his rap partner Kieran Jolieette have known Camille since they started school together in the 7th grade, so they wanted to make the video to lift her spirits.
Now, everyone is “doing the wheelchair,” even Camille. Friday night a special event was held in her honor, and the song was played for all who attended. That inspired Camille and nearly a hundred people to show off their best version of the wheelchair dance.
