Thief swipes debit card while victim is hospitalized

BATON ROUGE, LA — East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Detectives are looking for man that used a stolen Hancock Bank debit card to make nine unauthorized purchases totaling $287.63 at gas stations and restaurants located in the parish from January 9-12.

According to reports, the victim reported that their wallet was stolen sometime between January 3-5 while they were hospitalized at North Oaks Hospital.

Anyone with information concerning this incident or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office at (225) 389-5000.
