Threatening messages on Facebook land Lafayette woman behind bars for Terrorizing
LAFAYETTE, LA (FOX44) — Threatening messages posted by a former student of St. Thomas More High School prompted action from the Lafayette Police Department on Thursday, March 1.
Officials tell FOX44 News that the threatening messages and images were posted on Facebook. The former student changed her profile image to that of the Columbine High School shooters shortly after the school shooting had occurred in Ohio on Feb. 27.
Also included on the Facebook page were postings of the suicide note written by one of the Columbine High School shooters along with other “threatening” captions.
Cyber Crimes Investigators recovered the messages from the page, which also included a quote saying “it’s only a matter of time before something beautiful happens at STM.”
The Lafayette Police Department used the messages to obtain an arrest warrant for Jennifer Cornay, 20, of Lafayette. She is charged with Terrorizing.
The investigation is ongoing.
