BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) - Due to copper thieves, summer is going to be a little hotter for youngsters at Israelite Baptist Church.
Only parts were left of three air conditioning units that kept the rectory of Israelite Baptist Church cool.
Baton Rouge Police tells NBC 33 this is one of at least six churches in the same area that have been vandalized for the copper coils inside the A/C units.
Pastor Donald Stirling says even though it's hot they'll still proceed with God's work.
"We're just not gonna let the devil steal our joy, we're still gonna have our vacation bible school we're gonna have it if we have to have it here in the sanctuary" -said Pastor Stirling
