Tony's seafood expects big numbers from crawfish crop
Baton Rouge, La (FOX44) -- Folks at Tony's Seafood say they expect this year's crawfish crop to be booming.
Crawfish is already in high demand. Many Tiger fans wanted to order the mud bugs for their big tailgate. They're expecting Louisiana waterways to yield huge numbers of crawfish because of the recent warm weather, and high water levels. The more crawfish caught, the less the customer pay.
"If it stays warm, it's going to give us an earlier crop, we're going to start seeing the quality get better, it hasn't been too good for the last two or three weeks, it's been fair, but it's definitely going to get better as time goes on," said Tony's Seafood Co-Onwer Bill Pizzalato.
