Baton Rouge, La (FOX44) - Tuesday morning, two women dropped off several dogs at Park Forest Animal Hospital two months ago turned themselves in.

The two, Anita Hill and Cyndi Bourgeois, had dumped the dogs in the middle of the night in horrible condition. Some were sick, lame, and one was completely covered with mange.

The Vets at Park Forest say this is a very responsible thing to do, but there are things that pet owners in general need to think about. You need to have your pet spayed or neutered to decrease the number of stray animals in East Baton Rouge Parish, and if you honestly have too many pets, you need to give some or all of them away.

Some Clinics have discounted or even free spay/neuters if you qualify. These clinics include CAAWS: (225) 752-5801 and The Baton Rouge Spay and Neuter Clinic: (225) 218-1296.
