Two Baton Rouge juvenile inmates escape custody, captured Sunday
AVONDALE, LA (FOX44) -- Two juvenile inmates escaped from Bridge City Center for Youths on Saturday, March 24. The two are cousins from the Baton Rouge area and are currently back in custody.
Clarence McWilliams, 18, and Demonte Washington, 15, escaped from the center on Saturday and were spotted Sunday morning along the canal bank in Avondale. When officers arrived to the location, the teens were spotted and began running when officer tried to approach them.
After a short chase, the two were found hiding in a shed in the rear yard of a home on Elsa Drive. They attempted to run a second time when found, but were unsuccessful.
Both were arrested and McWilliams was taken to the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center, while Washington was taken to the Jefferson Parish Juvenile Assessment Center.
Both are being charged with Resisting Arrest by Fight and Flight.
