Two new police officers are on the streets in Walker
WALKER, LA (FOX44) - Two new reserve officers are ready to hit the street in Walker.
Officers, Tracy Girlinghouse and William Lawson have been trying to become reserves for about a year. Reserve officers don't cost the city any additional money, but they contribute as much work as traditional officers.
After their training, the Board of Alderman would not agree to add the pair to the force. Now, after finally getting approval earlier this week, the officers say they can't wait to get to work. The Police Department says they are happy to add Girlinghouse and Lawson to the department.
