United States to face Japan in Women's World Cup Final

Americans down Frence, 3-1 to advance

Again, it was a header from Abby Wambach that clinched the victory for the USA women's soccer team. The 3-1 victory over France puts the USA in position to win their first World Cup since 1999.

Lauren Cheney put the US on top in the 9th minute off a pass from Heather O'Reilly. France tied the game at one as Sonia Bompastor scored in the 55th minute.

With the scored tied in the 79th minute Abby Wambach connected on a header off of a corner kick to give the Americans the winning goal. To clinch the victory Alex Morgan scored in the 82nd minute.

The United States will play Japan on Sunday for the World Cup title.
