AROUND THE WORLD (FOX44) – United States, a 10-year-old boy in upstate New York is alive after his mother intentionally drove her mini-van into the Hudson River but his three siblings were not so lucky. Police say that the 10-year-old boy managed to climb out of a car window as it sank in the Hudson. His 25-year-old mother and 3 younger siblings drowned. Police think that the mom was mad at the kid's father, police are still investigating.

Also in the United States, if cats truly have nine lives then Max from Cali has eight left. He was found with a 12-inch arrow sticking out of its head. Vets say the arrow didn't crack the skull so little Max is expected to make a full recovery. No word on how that arrow got there.

Namibia – A state of emergency has been declared by the government. Several parts of the country are completely submerged by flooding, after some of the worst rain the country has seen in years.

Spain – Police seize 2,000-pounds of bomb making equipment from the violent terrorist group ETA. The group's accused of killing more than 800 people. Its members want independence from Spain and sources say they were planning on using explosives to end a 7-month ceasefire.

Australia – An old navy ship intentionally blown up so it could sink to the bottom of the ocean and form an artificial reef. Quite a spectacle and a packed beach cheering as the big vessel went under.

Thailand – More super-soaker action but today the water pistol fight set a new world record. 3,477 people with a ten minute drench fest. It’s all in celebration of the country's New Year’s water festival.
