UPDATE: Man arrested for shooting that injured 15-year old girl
THIS IS A FOX44 NEWS UPDATE: Charles Sibley, 26, of Baton Rouge was arrested and booked into Parish Prison, charged with Aggravated Battery, Illegal Use of a Dangerous Weapon and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
Witnesses indicate Sibley was driving in the 5600 block of Breckinridge when an unknown black male on foot began shooting at his vehicle. Sibley reportedly exited the vehicle with his own weapon and exchanged gunfire with the other suspect, who remains at-large.
The investigation is continuing.
BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — Baton Rouge Police Department Detectives are investigating the shooting of a 15-year old girl. It happened around 4:30 p.m.
Witnesses say at least two black males were fighting in the street at Breckinridge and Amarillo when at least one of them pulled a gun and started shooting. A stray round went through a house in the 5600 block of Breckinridge and struck a 15-year old girl inside.
She was hit in the chest while sitting at a computer.
The victim was transported to a local hospital by EMS. Preliminary indications are the wound does not appear to be life-threatening.
Officers are questioning people in the area but so far no one has been arrested or charged with the shooting.
