UPDATE: Second arrest for mall shooting, first shooter may be released
THIS IS A FOX44 NEWS UPDATE: East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Detectives have arrested Johnny Williams for the shooting that occurred Saturday evening at the Mall of Louisiana in which two innocent teenage bystanders were shot. Following EBRSO's initial arrest, based on multiple witness statements and positive identifications, detectives received a Crime Stoppers tip that Williams was the shooter. Detectives continued to investigate the incident in order to carry out due dillegence and gathered enough evidence to charge Williams and release the prior arrestee.
Johnny Williams, 17, of Baton Rouge. is charged with 4 Counts of Attempted First Degree Murder.
According to reports, Williams had a verbal altercation with another man outside the mall. As a result he fired several shots at the man and struck two teenage bystanders. The bystanders were transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
When detectives questioned Williams, he admitted to firing the weapon. Williams was also found to have an Active Warrant for Armed Robbery that was issued by BRPD.
Williams was transported and booked into Parish Prison on the above listed charges.

THIS IS A FOX44 NEWS UPDATE: Detectives have arrested Meco Damon Green, 17, of Baton Rouge. for 4 Counts Attempted First Degree Murder for allegedly firing shots that struck two male juveniles, missed a third and were intended for a fourth.
Detectives learned a verbal confrontation occurred between the accused and the intended victim in the court yard area between two businesses, near Mall of Louisiana Boulevard. The Accused brandished a handgun and the intended victim fled on foot. The Accused allegedly fired his weapon multiple times in the direction of the intended victim and the fired bullets struck victims 1 and 2 who were innocent bystanders.
Green was booked into parish prison on the above listed charges. This case is still under investigation and other arrests may be pending. More information will be released as it becomes available.
BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) - This is an FOX 44 News Update: There's new information in a shooting at the Mall of Louisiana.
East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Detectives say witnesses saw a group of men fighting between the Dillard's department store and the Rave Movie Theater, Saturday night around 9:30.
That's when witnesses heard shots go off and a several black males run toward the canal.
Two boys who were standing near the fight got shot. Their injuries were non life-threatening.
