UPDATE: Three teens arrested for escape from Jetson Youth Facility

THIS IS A FOX44 NEWS UPDATE: Officials say the teens who broke out of the Jetson Center for Youth escaped through the ceiling of their dorm bathrooms, jumped a 10-ft interior fence, and cut through the exterior fence with a sharp tool. We’re told they escaped around 11:30 p.m. and were not discovered until 7:20 a.m. the next day. Officials say one person has been fired and three others are on administrative leave.

THIS IS A FOX44 NEWS UPDATE:  The teens are back at the correctional facility. Clark and Nix, both 16, will stay at Jetson. Aymond, 19, will be transported to East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. Jetson officials say they are still investigating how the boys got out

THIS IS A FOX44 NEWS UPDATE: The three teens who escaped from Jetson Youth Facility were just arrested.

BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — Three teenage males have escaped from the Jetson Youth Facility located in Baton Rouge. Several different law enforcement agencies are currently working to track down the teen offenders.

We’re told the teens were discovered missing this morning, but could have escaped as last as last night.

“Any youth who escape from our facility are considered high risk,” Jerel Giarrusso, Director of Communications for the Office of Juvenile Justice, said.

State Police, the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, The Baton Rouge Police Department, and the Baker Police Department are all assisting the Jetson Facility in the search.

“We’re assisting the corrections facility with grounds parameter,” Chief Mike Knaps, Baker Police Department, said. “The Baton Rouge Police Department has their helicopter out here, and there are K-9 units on the ground.”
