LAFAYETTE, LA (FOX44) — A broken beer bottle was turned into weapon this weekend when a fight between two men got heated.
The Lafayette Police Department reports that on Sunday, March 11 at around 4:20 a.m. they responded to a call of a disturbance on Church Hill Street. When they arrived they found the victim, a 28 year old male from Arnauldville, suffering from a stab wound beneath his left arm.
According to reports the victim was involved in a fight with the suspect, Miguel J. Martinez, 24, of Duson. During the fight Martinez armed himself with a broken beer bottle. That’s when he stabbed the victim.
Martinez fled the scene and the victim was transported to a local hospital. We’re told he’s in stable condition.
Police are seeking the location of Martinez. An arrest warrant has been issued for Attempted Second Degree Murder.
