Wanted man arrested in Port Allen

PORT ALLEN, La (FOX44) - A man recently featured on America’s Most Wanted was arrested in Port Allen on March 28.

Port Allen Police Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle on Webb-Rite Safety’s property, dumping trash. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, officers learned that one of the three occupants of the vehicle was wanted by the U.S. Marshals in South Dakota.

The suspect gave officers several alias names before giving his real identity. Jody R. Dutton, 50, was taken into custody without incident.

He has been on the run for approximately one year and under his own admission, has been in Louisiana since December 2010. Dutton was featured on February 26, 2011 on the popular television show “AMERICA’S MOST WANTED”.

Dutton is wanted for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and a parole violation.

According to the AMERICA’S MOST WANTED website, Dutton was finishing up his sentence, in a South Dakota Work Release Program, when he walked off in March 2010.
