PORT ALLEN, LA (FOX44) - One of the deputies that played a big role in arresting the two suspects from Florida has died.

State Police say 31 year old Donald Vallet Junior died after his car rolled and caught fire on I-10.

It happened just after midnight Saturday.

Sheriff Mike Cazes says vallet was always in good spirits and helped lift the morale of other deputiues. The Sheriff says losing vallet is a big blow to the department.

State Police say the deputy wasn't wearing a seat belt.
