BATON ROUGE, La (FOX44) - A historic oak tree at LSU is coming down.
The Steele Burden Oak has been growing on campus for 80 years.
Back in May, the tree was hit by lightning, and arborists tried to save it, but the tree died.
Now crews are working to remove the tree from campus.
LSU officials say it's a process that will take several days.
There are over 1200 live oak trees all over LSU's campus.
