Why did the chickens cross the road?
SAN JUAN BAUTISTA, Ca (FOX44) - They could be escaping from people who want to get rid of them, or posing for tourists who love them.
Some business owners say they believe many of the chickens are descendants from those brought to Mission San Juan Bautista in 1769, and are part of the community.
Some residents have been asking the town council to remove the chickens, especially roosters, saying they roam too much, they're dirty, and loud.
After a lot of public 'squawking’, the town hired a group to gather up to a hundred chickens to hopefully house them.
However city hall observers ask “have you ever tried to catch a chicken?”
