Wildlife agent found shot, dead in St. Francisville
THIS IS AN FOX44 NEWS UPDATE: The Louisiana State Police are working the investigation into the shooting death of the Wildlife and Fisheries agent found this morning in St. Francisville. So far they say they do not think there was anyone else involved in the incident and that the fatal wound may have been self-inflicted.
ST. FRANCISVILLE, La (FOX44) — A Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries agent, Sgt. Paul Stucky, 47, was found dead Friday, Sept. 30 near the Old Ferry Landing in St. Francisville.
West Feliciana Sheriff J. Austin Daniel tells FOX44 News a fisherman found Stucky's body near the Mississippi River bank just after sunrise. We are told he was near his patrol unit and Stucky had been shot in the chest with a shotgun.
Sgt. Stucky was last heard from by LDWF dispatchers, who sent him on a night hunting compaint around 2:15 a.m. Friday morning.
Sgt. Stucky had been with LDWF for 18 years. His death is under investigation.
