Woman arrested after fleeing cops

HAMMOND, LA (FOX44) -- A Hammond woman was arrested Thursday after running from a deputy.

While Tangipahoa Deputy William Phebus was patrolling on US Hwy 190 he observed what appeared to be an intoxicated female on the shoulder of the roadway. He stopped to check on the woman when she started to run across the roadway. After almost being struck by a vehicle, Phebus caught the woman. She provided him with a false name and preceded to run again. She ran through a local church and assisting deputies located her in a brush area behind the building.

Diana Patterson of Hammond was arrested and booked with resisting an officer, resisting an officer by flight, and possession of drug paraphernalia
