ZACHARY, La (FOX44) – A Zachary man has been found guilty of brutally beating another man to death last year.

Patrick Holden, 29, faces an automatic life sentence for killing Robby Payne last January. We’re told Holden left Payne’s body so battered the officer who first saw him wasn’t even able to recognize his friend.

Payne survived the attack for a month, but his family chose to take him off life support.

Holden’s sentencing is set for March 24, 2011.
