‘Antiques Roadshow’ headed to Baton Rouge in July

Monday, January 7, 2013 - 1:16pm

“Antiques Roadshow” is headed to the Red Stick for the first time in the show’s history!

PBS announced today that its highest-rated show will set up shop in Baton Rouge during its summer 2013 tour.

“This is a great opportunity for Baton Rouge to shine on national television,” Mayor Holden said.

Now in its 35 season, the show is increasing production this year by adding two additional cities to its filming tour.

“By adding more cities to this year’s tour, ‘Roadshow’ fans will get their fill as we’re producing more ‘Roadshow’ than ever before,” said executive producer Marsha Bemko. “We’ve expanded to include two additional stops, which means meeting an additional 10,000 guests this summer. With an eight-city tour we’ll be treated to even more discoveries of America’s stories.”

Some of the top experts will offer free evaluations on antiques and collectables.

“Louisiana has a large number of antiques enthusiasts and we know that they will be counting the minutes until their favorite show comes to town and they can get their items appraised,” Beth Courtney, LPB CEO, said.

The show will stop in Baton Rouge on July 27, 2012. This is the only stop the show will make in Louisiana.

Admission to the event is free, but tickets are required. Click here for more information.
