BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) -- "Saturday shred is awesome," Barton Guidry said at the monthly event held at the BREC Skate Park.
One year ago BREC opened the Skate Park on Perkins Road. Since then it has maintained as one of their greatest attractions, pulling in kids from all over Baton Rouge.
“It was the grand opening when they first started, and everyone just came here and had fun,” Ryan McGrath, a 10th grader at Woodlawn High School, recalled.
This Saturday, Oct. 15, the park will celebrate it’s anniversary on its regularly scheduled Shred Day. Along with their usual features such as live music, special competitions and food, they will have an added bonus.
"We have three pros coming out and they're legends both in Louisiana and around the world," Susie Skaggs, a BREC Skate Park representative, explained.
The event will get started at noon and will continue until 4 p.m.
