LAFAYETTE, LA (FOX44) — For those who have waited to see the big Journey concert tonight in Lafayette, you’re going to have to wait even longer. Officials announced today that the event has been canceled.
“All refunds will be honored. Tickets purchased via Internet or phone will automatically be credited. All other tickets will be credited,” a press release stated.
Apparently lead singer Arnel Pineda is under doctor’s orders not to perform for the next month or so due to illness.
The concert was set to be held at the Cajundome in Lafayette on Wednesday, Oct. 17. However, the show was originally scheduled to happen on Wednesday, Aug. 28, but was rescheduled due to Hurricane Isaac. Officials say the show will not be rescheduled.
Journey was formed in 1973 and has 19 songs that landed in the Top 40 singles and 24 Gold and Platinum albums. The band’s Greatest Hits album is certified Platinum 15 times.
