L’Auberge to offer dealer school for those seeking casino jobs
BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — Work on the new L’Auberge casino continues to push forward as the summer time opening date draws near. Many new jobs will open with its launch, but some positions will require specialized training.
L’Auberge Casino & Hostel is now hosting a dealer school and is currently accepting applications to enroll. The classes will begin in mid-May.
“We are excited to offer our dealer school at no cost to the students and provide them with a chance to learn a new and valuable skill,” Kizzy Smith, Director of Human Resources at L’Auberge Baton Rouge, said. “We encourage those who are looking for a new career to take advantage of this opportunity and join us.”
Applications for the L’Auberge Baton Rouge Dealer School will be accepted online at LBatonRouge.com until May 4. The school will open on May 14, 2012.
Applicants may also apply at the L’Auberge Employment Center, located at 8000 GSRI, building 3100.
Classes will last eleven weeks and teach participants to deal all table games that will be featured at the L’Auberge Baton Rouge Casino. Though dealer school students are not guaranteed a position, it offers them the opportunity to both learn a new skill and also interact with management who make hiring decisions.
When it opens in 2012, L’Auberge Baton Rouge will feature an expansive single-level, 74,000 square foot casino; nearly 1,500 slot machines; 51 table games, including a poker room; a 12-story hotel with 206 guest rooms and a rooftop pool; three dining outlets; a unique casino bar with breathtaking views of the Mississippi River; 2,400 total parking spaces, including 800 in a covered parking garage; a multi-purpose event center with concert seating for up to 1,600 people or banquet seating for up to 800 people; and outdoor festival grounds with capacity for up to 2,500.
