BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — One of the features of the Great Baton Rouge State Fair this year is the Mutton Bustin Contest on Sunday afternoons. If you've never seen this competition you'll be impressed.
The little ones get to sit atop sheep and ride 'em cowboy. Bull fighter Shelby Sullivan says it's fun watching the next generation of riders have fun.
"You'll have little kids that sit up and ride them for 8 seconds, 6 seconds, and we're proud of them, cheering and stuff, it gets pretty exciting," he says.
There will be another Mutton Bustin’ competition next Sunday. The Greater Baton Rouge State Fair runs through November 6. There's also a petting zoo this year for the kids. The gates open each weekday at 5:00 p.m. and on the weekends at 1:00 p.m.
