Mesuem will honor local Project Runway star
BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — The Louisiana Art & Science Museum will exhibit the work of local fashion designer Anthony Ryan Auld.
Auld is the winner of TV’s Project Runway All Stars, and is a native of Baton Rouge. In fact, he was the first fashion designer from Louisiana to be featured on the show.
According to the LASM, the The Art of Fashion: Anthony Ryan exhibition will be on January 18, and an opportunity to see garments Auld designed, as well as sketches and photographs of his design process. Auld will also be signing autographs and available for photographs.
A related exhibition will feature garments designed by Auld’s Project Runway competitors, in an adjoining gallery.
Auld told the LASM that he was excited and grateful for his own exhibition, “People wait a lifetime for something like this, and it’s an honor at this point in my design career.”
The Louisiana Art and Science Museum was equally excited to display Auld’s work. Curator Elizabeth Weinstein said the exhibition focuses on the "immense creativity and dynamism of the fashion industry," and the event will be “a fantastic opportunity to meet a truly inspiring and talented up-and-coming designer, and he’s from Baton Rouge!”
A preview party will be held at the mesuem on January 17, the night before the exhibit opens. There, Auld will debut his new line of clothing for Fall 2014. His new line, called ANT, features ready-to-wear knitwear garments. Auld will also be signing autographs and available for photographs at the party.
