NOLA Fashion Week brings attention to local designers
NEW ORLEANS, LA (FOX44) -- First New York, now New Orleans - a week of fashion in the Crescent City will show off the best designers in our area.
This is the second year for the event, which is sponsored by the Historic New Orleans Collection. Runway shows are happening at the Ogden Museum of Art.
Along with the latest in fall fashion, presentations and classes serve as highlights. One of those who will be in attendance is Baton Rouge designer Anthony Ryan Auld.
Auld is known for his recent appearance on Season 9 of Project Runway. Although he didn’t make it to the end, Auld says events like the NOLA Fashion Week are the way to make sure designers from our area keep gaining national attention in the industry.
“It's a great educational thing but it's also great for Louisiana based designers to get their name out there and really have a platform to compete with people in New York, in L.A., and people in Dallas," Auld said.
NOLA Fashion Week runs through Friday, Oct. 21. Click here to see the schedule of events.
