Trombone Shorty to perform at White House for Black History Month celebration
NEW ORLEANS, LA (FOX44) — Music is pouring out from every corner of Louisiana right now for Carnival season. Next week, some of our sound is headed to the White House.
New Orleans-native Trombone Shorty, aka Troy Andrews, will perform on Fat Tuesday not in the Big Easy, but rather in the nation's capital.
That will be part of a Black History Month Celebration.
Trombone Shorty and the Orleans Avenue Band will belt out their own blend of jazz and funk fusion on February 21, 2012.
In addition to the show, the group will also participate in a special education program with First Lady Michelle Obama.
