Two music worlds collide at Chelsea’s for Saturday dance night
BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) -- Chelsea’s Café off Perkins Road will be the spot where two worlds will collide on Saturday, Feb. 4. The uniquely split bar will utilize the dividing space to create two unique dance experiences.
One side will feature the Latin Room. Critically acclaimed Latin pop ban Hola Hi will perform. This group was named one of the top 10 Latin releases worldwide by the Miami Herald, so this should be some fun times.
Also included are Salsa DJ’s Calde and Chily, along with Merengue, Bachata, and y Reggaeton.
On the other side of Chelsea’s going on at the same time will be The Carribean Room featuring DJ T-Roy and the Bayou International Sound System playing the best in Roots, Reggae, and Dancehall.
T-roy has opened up for Lee Scratch Perry, Damien Marley, Steven Marley, Collie Buddz, Serani, Mr Vegas Groundation, Michael Franti ,Barrington Levy, Buju Banton, Burning Spear, Luciano, T.O.K., Eek A Mouse, Isreal Vibration, Femi Kuti, and Matisyahu among others. This room will be hosted by Donney Rose.
So, pick your side or take part in a little of both. No matter what you select, this should be one great night to take your dancing shoes out for a spin.
