BREC Burbank Dog Park needs your votes for improvement contest

Thursday, May 9, 2013 - 7:00pm

A few clicks of the mouse will get dogs' tails wagging at BREC's Burbank Dog Park.

The park and the BREC Foundation are nominated for a $100,000 prize presented by PetSafe.

Fifteen parks around the country are listed as finalists. The grand prize is $100,000, but four other parks will receive $25,000 for improvement projects.

"We know these parks are extremely popular and that, like any of our facilities, they need to be continually maintained and improved," BREC Superintendent Carolyn McKnight said. "Winning this contest would allow us to build a pavilion for our small dog park at Burbank and possibly add a water feature and other amenities."

People may vote once a day on PetSafe's Facebook page, as well as through their website.

Fifteen finalists will be revealed June 5, with the winners announced July 31.
