Alex Trebek suffered a mild heart attack
HOLLYWOOD HOOKUP (FOX44) – Alex Trebek spent the weekend in the hospital. The long-time "Jeopardy" host is recovering after suffering a mild heart attack. The 71-year-old was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Saturday. A spokeswoman for Sony says Trebek is in good spirits. He's expected to fully recover, and will be back on set when "Jeopardy" resumes production of its new season next month.
– The fiery redhead "Merida" the heroine of Disney and Pixar’s "Brave" won hearts at the movies this weekend. The film was the top box office hit, with an estimated 66.7-million dollars in ticket sales. It's the 13th consecutive Pixar movie to debut in first place. "Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted" dropped to second place in its third week in theaters. The 3D animated film grossed another 20-million dollars. And the action fantasy "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" debuted in third place, with 16.5-million dollars in ticket sales.
– Jennifer Hudson is returning to the small screen. NBC says the Oscar-winning actress will guest star in a few episodes of the next season of "Smash." She'll play a Tony-award winning Broadway star. Her character arrives on the scene in the season two premiere.
