Have you ever wished your art work could be seen by hundreds of people? Now’s your chance.

The Mid City Merchants Association is currently accepting applications from local artists for participation in the annual White Light Night Art Hop, which will be held on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 from 6:00 till 10:00 p.m.

The White Light Night is a tradition that began in 1998. The event is free and open to the public. It includes live music at most venues, food, and of course, art.

Artists wishing to be displayed at one of the participating venues must submit images by email to no later than October 5. You must include your contact information in the email.

If you are selected for participation, you will be notified by October 12 and your work will be assigned to one of the participating venues. You are then responsible for delivering your artwork to that venue on Thursday, Nov. 21.

Mid City is Baton Rouge’s most unique arts, design and shopping district and, as of March 2010, has been designated a Cultural District by the State of Louisiana. A portion of the proceeds from MCM’s two yearly art hops goes toward the purchase of public art in Mid City. Mid City is truly the heart and soul of Baton Rouge.
