BATON ROUGE, LA — Family Road of Greater Baton Rouge is hosting the fifth annual Storybook Ball on Saturday May 18, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Baton Rouge River Center. Five local beauty salons will open their doors on that Saturday morning to help all the princesses get ready for the ball.
"We are excited to partner with Family Road to help make this day even more special for these little girls. Our stylists can't wait to help transform them into little princesses," said Alicia Allain, owner of Ma Maison de Beaute.
Salons participating include:
- Fuze Salon (225-663-6654)
- Ma Maison de Beaute (225-927-3054)
- Rigsby Frederick (225-769-7903)
- Salon Chateau (225-757-0303)
- Studio Elan (225-202-2386)
Family Road encourages families to donate $20 for the service to the participating salons.
The Storybook Ball is the signature fundraising event in support of Family Road of Greater Baton Rouge, a private non-profit 501(c)3 organization that provides social services to the Greater Baton Rouge area community. A dozen larger-than-life storybooks help bring the Ball to life, offering enchantment from classic titles including The Jungle Book, Princess and the Frog, Harry Potter, Where the Wild Things Are, and more. Each book is a different station of fun, interactive activities and costumed characters portrayed by the Castaway theatre group.
Tickets for the Storybook Ball are available through the Family Road website (familyroadgbr.org) and on Eventbrite.
