The film industry obviously has had a huge impact on Louisiana, and specifically on Baton Rouge.

In recognition of the unprecedented level of interest the community has shown toward opportunities to get involved, LSU’s Science Café will host Mari Kornhauser, LSU screenwriting professor and writer for the HBO series “Treme,” on June 25 at Chelsea’s Café.

Kornhauser will discuss what it’s like to write for such a popular show, and will talk about the general business of screenwriting and independent filmmaking. Doors open at Chelsea’s at 5:00 p.m. for delicious free food, networking, giveaways and drink specials.

The talk will start at 6:00 p.m. The general public (all ages) are welcome.
